Aerial hunting of wolves has become a problem in Alaska. Over 700 wolves' lives have been claimed by aerial hunting in the past four years. This may not seem like alot, but it is, considering that wolves are on the federal endangered list. Low-flying airplanes track wolves while shooting at them with a 12 gauge shot gun. They often don't die when they are hit, and they bite at their backs in agony. Since they aren't killed instantly, they are tracked till the wolves is exhausted and in absolute terror, and can't go on no more. The hunters then land and kill the animal. Even quite a few hunters agree that it is a terrible way to die.
Wolves are amazing animals. They seem to connect with each other, much like a human relationship. They are fantastic parents, and contrary to popular belief, wolves are actually gentle creatures. They are highly intellectual animals, and thats probably why many people tend to view and portray them as spiritual creatures. The wolf, being a symbol of wilderness, probably puts on a very tough, hard exterior, and may seem dangerous, but the truth of the matter is, most wolves are scared of humans and try to avoid them. Who wouldn't be afraid of humans as a wolf?

I think that it take something as drastic as showing what actually happens to get people motivated to actually do something. People are very visual learners, and thats why I believe that its something to hear about something, but when you see it, thats what makes a difference.
